Brent Silby Brent Silby has been a passionate gamer since arcade games became popular in the late 1970s. During the early 1980s Brent started developing his own games for home computer systems such as the Sinclair ZX81, Acorn Electron, and the Apple 2. With the limited memory and processing power of these early computers it was necessary for Brent to implement a number of memory saving "tricks". These tricks are generally not required with current technology, however Brent still employs some of these methods when designing games in DHTML/Javascript, which (as an interpreted language) can run slow on low-end computers. Brent's current game development is centered around the design and programming of arcade-styled "casual games", which are played online within a web-browser. At the other end of the day, Brent DJs in Christchurch city clubs and events as "Maestro B", his genre of choice being House. Click for more about Brent Silby. Steven
